Devil in the details

A flatlay is a sample of little details that you can find on your wedding day. There are no real rules when it comes to what to include, but here are some examples of things you can include if you’re not sure where to start.

Florals!

Florals add a lot of character to your wedding day and can remind of you of the big day every time you see that flower out into the wild. Florals are also a great way to add to your flat lays. Ask your florist to save some for the photographer so I can have fresh florals on the big day.

So what else should I add?

  • Invitation Suite

  • Rings/Wedding Bands

  • Shoes worn on the big day

  • Jewelry (Earrings, necklaces, etc.)

  • A wedding scent perfume bottle

  • Extra Fabric or a fabric sample

  • Florals

  • Vow Books

  • Bouquet/ Boutonnière

  • Custom napkins

  • Veil

How much stuff should I have?

This is completely up to you! At a minimum, you probably want to have your rings, but the best part is, you already have those. If you have a lot of details, that’s fantastic too! More stuff means more configurations and different ways to look at each details. So the short answer: don’t feel the pressure to hit a number, just gather whatever details make you smile.
